For my first list from a specific retailer, I will discuss some of my favorite items from Harbor Freight! I purchased all of these myself without any sponsorships.
- Bauer 3 Gallon 3 HP Wet/Dry Shop Vac - This is probably my most used purchase from Harbor Freight, from quick clean ups in the car to large amounts of dog hair after grooming to draining water from trays under plants without having to move them. Its size makes it easy to carry and store. It is comparable in quality to a similar Craftsman model I have that is about 20 years old. Everyone needs a wet/dry vac, and this one is an affordable and convenient option. It usually costs $39.99, but you can often get it for $29.99 on sale or with a coupon. The hose is a bit short and stiff, but there are plenty of aftermarket options available. A reader informed me that replacement dry filters ("Cloth Filter with Clamp Ring", Part SKU 18327) can be purchased from the Harbor Freight Parts catalog. Thank you! - Pittsburgh Micro Spring Clamp Set, 6 Piece - As I recently discovered, finding quality clothespins is a surprisingly difficult task. But then I thought, "Aren't clothespins just weak spring clamps?" So I picked these up, and they make great clothespins! They also make good chip clips, and I'm sure they're great for any similar use case. Price: $1.99 Grab a set here or, if you would like a different size, browse the selection here
- Warrior Titanium Drill Bit Set, 19 Piece – Another item I use often. It provides all of the sizes that are not used often for a reasonable price of $19.99, and $9.99 on sale or with a coupon. You can buy it online here
- Franklin Moving Blankets – High quality moving blankets at great prices. They are often on sale or have coupons. Find the various sizes here
- Up next in the moving category is the Franklin 2-in-1 Convertible Hand Truck! – With a 600 lb vertical capacity and an 800 lb horizontal capacity, there's not much it can't handle. The pneumatic tires roll smoothly and easily, as do the casters. You can roll it into your home or business for $94.99
- The Franklin Moving Dollies provide a great solution for moving washing machines, boxes of vinyl records, probably large CRTs, and other heavy items! While I haven't tested the solid deck models yet, I've been pleased with the 30"x18" model. Prices range from $12.99-$29.99, but coupons are common. There's even a handle you can attach! Find the one that best fits your needs here
- Tool Box Disposable Blue Shop Towels – When you need to absorb more water than a paper towel can handle, but it's not enough to justify pulling out the shop vac, or if you just need a good cleaning towel that's disposable, the Tool Box towels made from 60% recycled fibers are a good choice. They can absorb a surprising amount of water, and they're available in a roll of 55 sheets for $3.49 or a roll of 200 for $14.99 that also fits a specially designed bucket, which you can get with the 200 towels for only a dollar more.
- Voyager 12 in Tool Bag w/ 21 Pockets – I bought this with a coupon for $4.99 about 5 years ago because I needed a small tool bag in a pinch. It has far exceeded my expectations. While I don't travel with it often, I do use it to store screwdrivers and I use it first if I do need to travel with a basic set of tools. I feel it would be a good option for storing tools/emergency equipment in a vehicle, and I intend to purchase something similar for that purpose. You can take it on your voyages for the regular price of $7.99, or with frequent coupons/sales for $3.99-$4.99! You can also browse other tool bags of various designs and sizes here.
- Warrior Wire Wheel/Cup Brush Set, 6 Piece – These wire burshes are for use with drills up to 4500 RPM. The sizes included allow you to reach tight spaces for removing rust and paint from metal, or adding a distressted effect to wood. I've been using my set for several years, and they have held up well. This should be a standard drill accessory. Buy them here for $5.99 (Regular price, but at time of writing, they are on sale for $3.99!) On sale or with a coupon, they can be purchased for $2.99-$3.99.
